When historians attack!

Historians rely heavily on primary sources for their research. So what happens when documents don’t support an historian’s thesis? In this strange case, a Lincoln historian, Thomas Lowry, decided he wanted to “discover” something about Lincoln in order to make a name for himself. Watch the video to see how this man attempted to re-write history.

CTC, circa 1970s: radio!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Rob Currens (Madison Park Productions), audio-guy extraordinaire and former voice of Cincinnati State. Remember all those great radio ads from the 80s and 90s I have shared with you? Well, that was his voice! He recently helped us out with a mystery audio reel we have here, and now it is ready to share with you. We estimate these ads to be from the 70s. Have a listen and enjoy!

Hey! We made it to another facial hair Friday! Digging through our Flickr page in search of goatees, sideburns, beards or mustaches always reminds me that the weekend has just about arrived.

Happy Friday internet friends!

The records we keep

Thought you might find this story interesting.
From the article:
“Since 1850, Marin’s coroners have documented thousands of death investigations throughout the county — pistol shootings, drownings, railroad accidents, the occasional poisoning. One man’s demise, in Tomales in 1859, was attributed to bad whisky.”
