Happy Repeal Day!

Go ahead! Have a drink! Today marks the day we won our right to party, all the way back in 1933.

Cheers!

Collecting history as it is made

This article is interesting. I was just wondering if any institutions were collecting Occupy Wall Street materials.

From the article: “Early in October, staffers from the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History went through the Occupy Wall Street encampment in New York’s Zucotti Park collecting hand-made posters and other material to build up a record of the embryonic movement in case the protesters end up in the history books — and not just in jail for unlawful assembly and messing up public spaces.

As the Occupy protest widened to other cities, so did the museum’s search. But museum officials declined to go into detail about what was being collected and from where. “

House memos, 1969-1975

We have 2 large files of memos from Cliff House, the first president of Cincinnati State (then CCST), in the Michele Imhoff correspondence materials. They range from payroll reminders, lunch room policies, tenure policy, to firm reminders to lock doors and meet at scheduled class times. I think these give a great picture into the early years of the college and just how small it was, but how quickly it grew into what we know as Cincinnati State today.

Isn’t it time you learned how to see into the future?

Dig this brochure of continuing ed course offerings, ca. 1970.  I am interested in the course on how to direct a musical.
